Apple Cider Caramels

I’m not trying to toot my own horn here, but I don’t think I’ve ever made anything more crowd-pleasing. Actually, I’m going to toot Deb’s horn over at Smitten Kitchen for providing the recipe and my dear friend Lauren’s for insisting that we make them. But if you are looking for a special treat to bring to one of your many Christmas functions or a little gift for friends or colleagues, Apple Cider Caramels are the way to go!

  1. I tried making these recently but burnt the apple cider!! I’m glad to hear they turned out for you. I’ll just have to watch the temp. more closely next time! I went to see Deb in Vancouver recently – it was packed! I got my pic taken with her and we chatted about the Butternut Squash and Carmelized Onion Gallette, which was my first SK recipe. Did you wrap them each individually? it seems like a lot of waxed paper.

    • So great you got to meet her! I’m sorry they didn’t work for you. Try again! It’s well worth it. I did wrap them individually…it took a while, but again, well worth it. 🙂

  2. I’ll be making them soon. I stll have all the other ingredients ready in bowls. I just needed to get more apple cider and now I have tons. 🙂
